Over the years, Allen has owned a theater, worked in radio and TV, and crossed paths with many of the artists who shaped his musical journey. In the 2000s, he became the Dorsey Gang Troubadour for Dallas–Fort Worth’s New Country 96.3, writing and performing parody songs that aired on more than 200 country stations nationwide.
Today, based in Fort Worth, Texas, Allen continues to write, perform, and record. His latest collection, Songs I Forgot I Wrote, was produced in association with Grammy Award–winning producer Phil York and remastered for 2025 with a focus on the true Texas sound. He also continues to contribute original music to Hawkeye in the Morning on New Country 96.3 KSCS.
In March, my good friend Hawkeye called me to create the ever-popular great egg give away theme song. Always glad to oblige.
